Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our analytics and business intelligence needs. A strong background in Azure data services and Power BI is essential for this role.

Please note: you must have at least 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Build and optimize data models, both for operational and analytical systems.
• Work closely with Data Analysts and BI developers to enable reliable data access through Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop and maintain data warehouse and data lake solutions using Azure technologies (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks).
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through best practices and tools.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and data platforms.
• Participate in the definition of data architecture and contribute to data strategy.
  
  

Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services:Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Databricks (preferred)
• Experience integrating and preparing data for visualization in Power BI.
• Proficient in Python or Scala for data processing and scripting tasks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Exposure to real-time data processing (Kafka, Stream Analytics).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for data engineering.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and data integration from external sources.
• Good communication skills, and the ability to talk with technical, non-technical resources, as well as management
• Be flexible to change, and willing to adapt to the client and team needs
• Ability to work with engineers in multiple countries
• Must have an organized and analytical working style, and the ability to plan your own work
